We Have Answers!

What makes Pixel Lights different from other permanent lighting companies?

Pixel Lights run on lower voltage amps than any of our competition, which means no power boosters and a more energy efficient system for your home. We provide the first truly DIY, easy to install, fully customizable permanent lighting system, and we aim to continue to bring you the best and brightest in outdoor lighting. Our lights are also unique to the market, as they pop in with a barb (unlike finicky screw cap lighting).

I don’t want to install my Pixel Lights on my own. Can I hire someone to do it?

Absolutely! Even though Pixel Lights are made to be easy to install, not everyone has the time or the tools to do it. Experienced installers can help set up and install your Pixel Lights properly. We recommend contacting us and we can point you in the right direction to find a quality contractor in your area.

What is the Pixel Lights warranty?

Our 3 year warranty covers product that use our recommended equipment and follow the correct installation procedure. And don’t worry, if you move the warranty is transferred to the new owners. Warranties must be applied for within 90 days of installation.

Do you ship outside of Canada?

Do I need to hire an electrician?

Pixel Lights are an ultra low voltage, class 2 circuit. No electrician is required!

Do Pixel Lights interfere with Garage Door communication?

Some Permanent Lighting kits operate at the same frequency as various garage door remotes. This is not always the case with Pixel Lights, but it can be an issue.

INSTALLATION: LIGHTS

Are Pixel Lights waterproof?

Yes, our entire system is built to withstand even the toughest weather conditions! Waterproof to IP 67 and durable, Pixel Lights can be used year-round.

What type of LED are pixel lights?

Our Pixel Lights are individually addressable 24v RGB LEDs.

How far apart are the lights spaced?

Our lights are spaced 9 inches apart, measured from the center of the hole, to the center of the next.

Is it safe to have permanent outdoor lighting on my house?

Pixel Lights are an extremely safe, low voltage, class 2 circuit.

What size of hole do I need to drill to fit Pixel Lights?

Pixel Lights snap into a 3/8-inch hole in our Pixel Lights track. If 3rd Party track is used, our Pixel Lights drill bit can be used to get the perfect-sized hole every time! Just space the holes 9 inches, center-to-center, apart!

How many lights can I connect before I need more power?

Pixel Lights are 24v, and a single run can be up to 200 feet. Unlike other permanent lighting companies, our lights do not require power boosters.

Can I replace a damaged light?

Pixel Lights are installed into a 3/8” hole. We recommend using a 1/8” drill bit for the pilot hole, and our 3/8” drill bit for the installation hole. Our starter kit includes our 3/8” drill bit, and it is also available to purchase separately.

What is a pilot hole?

A pilot hole is a small hole drilled into your track that helps place the Pixel Light drill bit so that you are guaranteed a straight row of lights.

How do I terminate the string?

For our warranty, it is required to use a Pixel Lights termination end, which are found on the Pixel Lights store.
